Willard Celebrates Another Successful NAMPO
Willard Batteries once again reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to South Africa’s agricultural sector through its strong presence at NAMPO 2026, the largest open-air agricultural exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere. Held at NAMPO Park outside Bothaville from 12–15 May, this year’s event drew more than 81 000 visitors and over 910 exhibitors under the theme “Resilience through Innovation”.
NAMPO 2026 proved once again why it remains one of the most important platforms for agricultural business, innovation and engagement in the country. Organisers highlighted the resilience of South African agriculture, with exhibitors showcasing technologies, equipment and practical solutions aimed at improving productivity and sustainability under increasingly difficult economic and climatic conditions.
For Willard Batteries, NAMPO remains a key opportunity to engage directly with the farming community, many of whom have trusted the brand for decades. As a battery brand with a proud heritage spanning more than 70 years, Willard has long been associated with the reliability and durability required to keep the essential vehicles, machinery and equipment of the agricultural sector operating effectively.
“Willard batteries have been an integral part of farm life for decades, and NAMPO continues to provide a fantastic opportunity for us to connect directly with the agricultural community,” said Corné Strydom, Sales & Marketing Executive for AutoX. “The event consistently brings together innovation, technology and practical solutions, and we are proud to be part of an environment that supports the future sustainability and growth of South African agriculture.”
The Willard stand attracted consistently high visitor traffic throughout the four-day exhibition, with visitors enjoying a vibrant and interactive experience. In addition to a wide range of Willard-branded products and merchandise available for purchase, the stand featured an interactive simulator experience and a competition where visitors stood the chance to win a John Deere tractor, creating considerable excitement among attendees.
Rentech Renewable Technologies, part of the broader AutoX group, was also represented at the exhibition, showcasing renewable energy and solar solutions relevant to the agricultural environment. The inclusion of Rentech alongside Willard further demonstrated AutoX’s broader commitment to supporting South African industry through both dependable power solutions and sustainable energy technologies.
NAMPO 2026 also served as an important platform for broader industry conversations around innovation, technical skills development, sustainability and the long-term competitiveness of South African agriculture. Discussions throughout the week focused heavily on improving efficiency, strengthening infrastructure, expanding market opportunities and adopting new agricultural technologies to help producers remain resilient in an increasingly demanding environment.
For Willard Batteries, the success of NAMPO 2026 once again reinforced the importance of maintaining close relationships with the agricultural sector and supporting the farmers and producers who continue to drive the country’s economy forward.
