History

Willard Batteries has a proud history, with a presence in South Africa going back to the 1920s. During this time, Willard Batteries obtained a license from ESB, America, and quickly gained recognition for its outstanding product quality. Local production started back in 1954, employing many employees from the surrounding community in its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Taking a significant step in 1981, Willard Batteries transitioned to being 100% South African owned. Since then, the company has dedicated itself to building a stellar reputation as a leading brand. Regarded as the preferred choice among consumers, Willard Batteries has earned its reputation and is widely recognised as the go-to brand for car batteries. With a wide selection of quality automotive batteries, Willard Batteries serves both the OE and replacement markets with uncompromising quality. Now, over 70 years later, Willard batteries can be purchased at outlets countrywide.
